I should be asleep but my mind won’t turn off.

I lay on my back in the dark, staring up at the ceiling.

Resisting the urge to lay on my stomach, so I don’t smear my toothpaste remedies to get rid of my pesky pimples.

My mind ticks with the minutes. Thinking of all the things I should do, have to do, and how I’ll do it.

Tick. I should finish my web design assignment.

Tick. I miss my sex drive.

Tick. I wonder if I can get back on good terms with my housemate/friend.

Tick. How am I gonna finish all the schoolwork/reading I need to do before Thursday.

Tick. I should get back into working out.

Tick. I’m so fucking hungry.

Tick. I can’t wait for spring break.

Tick. I should be sleep, I’ve got work in the morning.
